Con el desarrollo de esta tecnolog\u00eda se espera alcanzar m\u00e1s de un 75 % de eficiencia energ\u00e9tica global de almacenamiento, lo que contribuir\u00eda significativamente a la reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo del proyecto hyPPER es desarrollar un reactor electroqu\u00edmico para almacenar energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica renovable mediante el uso de mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas portadoras de hidr\u00f3geno (LOHC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n<p>Estos compuestos pueden absorber y liberar hidr\u00f3geno mediante reacciones qu\u00edmicas, permitiendo su almacenamiento de forma estable durante largos periodos de tiempo y su f\u00e1cil transporte puesto que pueden ser almacenadas y transportadas en forma l\u00edquida y bajo condiciones ambientales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl proyecto hyPPER pretende revolucionar el sector energ\u00e9tico al ofrecer soluciones eficientes de almacenamiento temporal y transporte de la energ\u00eda, permitiendo equilibrar las fluctuaciones en la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00edas renovables y acoplarlas a las demandas de consumo\u201d, explica Jos\u00e9 Manuel Serra, investigador principal del proyecto hyPPER en el ITQ. \u201cEn pocas palabras: la energ\u00eda podr\u00eda utilizarse en el momento y el lugar en el que se necesitase\u201d, resume el investigador del CSIC.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Integraci\u00f3n eficaz en las plantas existentes<\/h2>\n<p>La principal innovaci\u00f3n del proyecto es que la tecnolog\u00eda generada se puede integrar de manera m\u00e1s eficaz dentro de las plantas de energ\u00eda renovable existentes, lo que permitir\u00eda optimizar su sostenibilidad econ\u00f3mica y ecol\u00f3gica. Esto se consigue gracias a que se abordan en un solo dispositivo todos los pasos del ciclo de carga y descarga de la mol\u00e9cula org\u00e1nica portadora.<\/p>\n<p>En un solo dispositivo se abordan todos los pasos del ciclo de carga y descarga de la mol\u00e9cula org\u00e1nica<\/p>\n<p>De esta manera, en el modo de carga se acoplan la electr\u00f3lisis del agua (proceso por el cual se divide la mol\u00e9cula de agua en hidr\u00f3geno y ox\u00edgeno) con la hidrogenaci\u00f3n in situ de la mol\u00e9cula portadora, evitando transformaciones y tratamientos intermedios que reducen la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica del proceso. En el modo de descarga, se acoplan la deshidrogenaci\u00f3n de la mol\u00e9cula con la oxidaci\u00f3n in situ del hidr\u00f3geno desprendido, para obtener energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en un solo paso.<\/p>\n<p>Con el desarrollo de esta tecnolog\u00eda se espera alcanzar m\u00e1s de un 75 % de eficiencia energ\u00e9tica global de almacenamiento. Este hecho contribuir\u00eda significativamente a la reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero.<\/p>\n<p>Para Serra, \u201cel proyecto se presenta como una soluci\u00f3n innovadora ante el reto mundial de la sostenibilidad energ\u00e9tica.
