El estudio identifica la relaci\u00f3n entre la masa estelar de una galaxia y el ritmo con el que forma estrellas, el cual aumenta al a\u00f1adir una o dos galaxias vecinas.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n relaciona propiedades como la masa estelar, la tasa de formaci\u00f3n estelar \u2014ritmo con el que nacen nuevas estrellas por a\u00f1o\u2014 \u00a0y la metalicidad del gas presente en la galaxia, es decir, la cantidad de metales en el gas ionizado por la actividad de formaci\u00f3n estelar.<\/p>\n<p>Las caracter\u00edsticas son diferentes para galaxias que viven aisladas, con respecto a las que est\u00e1n\u00a0f\u00edsicamente ligadas por la acci\u00f3n gravitatoria<\/p>\n<p>Estas caracter\u00edsticas son sistem\u00e1ticamente diferentes para las galaxias que viven aisladas con respecto a las que que tienen a otras vecinas unidas\u00a0por la acci\u00f3n gravitatoria de ambas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cEl aumento de la formaci\u00f3n estelar se debe, principalmente, a la interacci\u00f3n entre las galaxias vecinas. Adem\u00e1s, en un estudio anterior hemos comprobado que en los tripletes estas interacciones producen una reactivaci\u00f3n de los sistemas, entendiendo este proceso como el aumento de la formaci\u00f3n estelar en galaxias donde la actividad se estaba apagando\u201d, explica la investigadora de la UGR Mar\u00eda del Carmen Argudo, primera firmante del trabajo.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>La V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea formar\u00e1 m\u00e1s estrellas<\/h2>\n<p>La galaxia en la que se encuentra la Tierra, la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea, no est\u00e1 aislada, sino que se encuentra en un grupo conformado por tres galaxias masivas f\u00edsicamente ligadas, junto con la galaxia de Andr\u00f3meda y la del Tri\u00e1ngulo, m\u00e1s un centenar de galaxias sat\u00e9lites de menor masa, como las Nubes de Magallanes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestra galaxia ser\u00eda comparable a los tripletes de galaxias estudiados, solo que algunos de nuestros tripletes se encuentran en interacci\u00f3n, como es el caso del\u00a0SIT-45\u201d, detalla Argudo.<\/p>\n<p>Las galaxias aisladas no tienen ninguna galaxia masiva con la que hayan tenido una\u00a0interacci\u00f3n\u00a0al menos en los \u00faltimos cinco mil millones de a\u00f1os<\/p>\n<p>Por el contrario, seg\u00fan el estudio, las galaxias aisladas no tienen ninguna galaxia masiva con la que hayan tenido una interacci\u00f3n, al menos en los \u00faltimos cinco mil millones de a\u00f1os, como es el caso de la SIG-423.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe momento, la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea no presenta una actividad de formaci\u00f3n estelar muy activa, pero cuando eventualmente comience la interacci\u00f3n con Andr\u00f3meda, la cual ocurrir\u00e1 en unos cinco o seis mil millones de a\u00f1os, nuestra galaxia y la de Andr\u00f3meda se \u2018reactivar\u00e1n\u2019, produci\u00e9ndose un aumento del ritmo de nacimiento de nuevas estrellas en la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea\u201d, indica la investigadora de la UGR.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Relaci\u00f3n entre galaxias y formaci\u00f3n estelar<\/h2>\n<p>Hasta el momento, exist\u00eda una controversia sobre el efecto del entorno en las relaciones fundamentales entre galaxias con formaci\u00f3n estelar. Gracias a este estudio, que usa muestras de galaxias aisladas en comparaci\u00f3n con pares y tripletes aislados, los investigadores han comprobado que el entorno local tiene un efecto en dichas interacciones.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n ha cuantificado los par\u00e1metros de estas relaciones para galaxias aisladas.
