Esto implica un mayor acercamiento\u00a0a nuestro propio sistema de sensores: nuestra piel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Los detalles se publican en la revista\u00a0Science Robotics\u00a0y los autores creen que, adem\u00e1s de las posibles aplicaciones futuras para robots humanoides o pr\u00f3tesis humanas\u00a0en las que el sentido del tacto es vital, esta piel rob\u00f3tica de bajo coste podr\u00eda ser \u00fatil en sectores tan variados como el automovil\u00edstico o el de ayuda en casos de cat\u00e1strofes.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Una\u00a0\u2018piel\u2019\u00a0m\u00e1s sensible<\/h2>\n<p>Las pieles sint\u00e9ticas rob\u00f3ticas convierten la informaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica, como la presi\u00f3n o la temperatura, en se\u00f1ales electr\u00f3nicas. En la mayor\u00eda de los casos, se necesitan diferentes tipos de sensores para distintos tipos de contacto (uno para detectar la presi\u00f3n, otro para la temperatura, etc), que luego se incorporan a materiales blandos y flexibles. Sin embargo, las se\u00f1ales de estos sensores pueden interferir entre s\u00ed y los materiales se da\u00f1an f\u00e1cilmente.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisponer de diferentes sensores para distintos tipos de tacto da lugar a materiales complejos de fabricar\u201d, afirma David Hardman, de Cambridge; de ah\u00ed la necesidad de desarrollar una soluci\u00f3n que pueda detectar varios tipos de tacto a la vez, pero en un solo material.<\/p>\n<p>La nueva \u2018piel\u2019 utiliza un tipo de sensor que reacciona de forma diferente a distintos tipos de contacto, lo que hace a esta piel electr\u00f3nica en su totalidad un sensor<\/p>\n<p>El nuevo desarrollo utiliza un tipo de sensor que reacciona de forma diferente a distintos tipos de contacto, lo que se conoce como detecci\u00f3n multimodal. A diferencia de otras soluciones, esta piel electr\u00f3nica es en su totalidad un sensor, \u201clo que la acerca m\u00e1s a nuestro propio sistema sensorial: nuestra piel\u201d, resume un comunicado de la Universidad de Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p>Y es que, aunque la piel rob\u00f3tica no es tan sensible como la humana, puede detectar se\u00f1ales de m\u00e1s de 860 000 diminutas v\u00edas en el material, lo que posibilita que reconozca diferentes tipos de tacto y presi\u00f3n, como el toque de un dedo, una superficie caliente o fr\u00eda o da\u00f1os causados por cortes o pinchazos.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Una base de gelatina<\/h2>\n<p>Para crearla, los investigadores fundieron un hidrogel a base de gelatina, suave, el\u00e1stico y conductor de la electricidad, y le dieron la forma de una mano humana.
