En el espacio, solo se detectan en regiones fuertemente irradiadas por luz ultravioleta (UV), como los bordes de las nubes moleculares donde nacen nuevas estrellas.<\/p>\n<p>La comparaci\u00f3n entre las im\u00e1genes de estas especies y la distribuci\u00f3n de S\u2082H ha permitido a los astroqu\u00edmicos concluir que esta \u00faltima se forma en la superficie de los granos de polvo interestelar.<\/p>\n<p>En estas superficies heladas, compuestas principalmente por agua (H\u2082O) y con presencia de \u00e1tomos de azufre, la radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta emitida por estrellas cercanas induce reacciones qu\u00edmicas que generan S\u2082H. Este mecanismo ha sido confirmado en el laboratorio del CAB mediante experimentos realizados por miembros del mismo equipo.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Teor\u00edas del origen de la vida<\/h2>\n<p>Los investigadores\u00a0creen que la mayor\u00eda de los discos protoplanetarios \u2014los entornos donde se forman los planetas\u2014 atraviesan fases de intensa radiaci\u00f3n UV. Esto se debe a que la formaci\u00f3n estelar suele ocurrir en c\u00famulos que incluyen estrellas masivas emisoras de esta radiaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores creen que la mayor\u00eda de los discos protoplanetarios atraviesan fases de intensa radiaci\u00f3n UV<\/p>\n<p>Curiosamente, los meteoritos indican que el disco que dio origen a nuestro Sistema Solar tambi\u00e9n estuvo expuesto a esta intensa radiaci\u00f3n, posiblemente procedente de una estrella masiva compa\u00f1era del joven Sol, que muri\u00f3 hace tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>El hallazgo de S\u2082H en el espacio supone un avance en la comprensi\u00f3n de c\u00f3mo se forman mol\u00e9culas complejas y potencialmente prebi\u00f3ticas en el medio interestelar.
