Que hubiera especies adaptadas al frio como los renos en estas\u00a0latitudes, permite saber que en ese momento las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas eran glaciales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Se trata de uno de los restos de reno encontrado m\u00e1s al sur de Eurasia y tambi\u00e9n es el registro m\u00e1s antiguo de fauna glacial de la Pen\u00ednsula<\/p>\n<p>El f\u00f3sil se ha encontrado en la unidad GIIIa de Galer\u00eda, en la misma capa que un\u00a0fragmento craneal humano\u00a0y numerosos restos de industria l\u00edtica, lo cual confirma que la especie convivi\u00f3 con seres humanos primitivos.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Este descubrimiento, liderado por investigadores del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN-CSIC demuestra que la\u00a0fauna glacial\u00a0se extend\u00eda por la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica, y que al igual que otras pen\u00ednsulas meridionales de Europa, sirvi\u00f3 de refugio para especies no adaptadas al fr\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Impacto sobre el clima<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cEste f\u00f3sil nos ayuda a mejorar la dataci\u00f3n de los niveles del\u00a0yacimiento, pero tambi\u00e9n evidencia la intensidad de los per\u00edodos glaciales que afectaron a los pobladores de la pen\u00ednsula durante el Pleistoceno\u201d, explica el investigador del MNCN\u00a0Jan van der Made.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa presencia de este reno en esta latitud nos indica que el fr\u00edo extremo pudo afectar las\u00a0condiciones\u00a0de la fauna ib\u00e9rica antes y de manera m\u00e1s intensa de lo que se pensaba hasta la fecha\u201d, continua el paleont\u00f3logo.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos grandes paquidermos y otros animales como rinocerontes lanudos y renos\u00a0llegaron hasta Madrid e incluso Granada<\/p>\n<p>Las \u00faltimas glaciaciones que se produjeron llegaron a expandir el ecosistema conocido como\u00a0\u201cEstepa de los Mamuts\u201d,\u00a0en el que habitaban no solo estos grandes paquidermos sino tambi\u00e9n rinocerontes lanudos y renos.
