La fusi\u00f3n de dos colosos c\u00f3smicos ha permitido a los cient\u00edficos comprobar predicciones fundamentales de Albert Einstein y Stephen Hawking.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados\u00a0se publican hoy en un art\u00edculo en la revista Physical Review Letters y ha contado con la colaboraci\u00f3n de\u00a0observatorios como LIGO (EE UU), Virgo (Italia) y KAGRA en Jap\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEs la visi\u00f3n m\u00e1s n\u00edtida que hemos tenido de la naturaleza de los agujeros negros\u201d, afirma Maximiliano Isi, astrof\u00edsico del Instituto Flatiron y profesor en la Universidad de Columbia. \u201cHemos encontrado algunas de las pruebas m\u00e1s s\u00f3lidas de que los agujeros negros astrof\u00edsicos son los que predijo la teor\u00eda de la relatividad general de Einstein\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Masa de 63 soles<\/h2>\n<p>La colisi\u00f3n analizada dio lugar a un agujero negro con la masa de 63 soles, que gira 100 veces por segundo. Los detectores captaron todo el proceso, desde el choque inicial hasta los \u00faltimos milisegundos de \u201creverberaci\u00f3n\u201d, mientras el nuevo agujero negro se estabilizaba.<\/p>\n<p>Ese eco final, apenas perceptible hace una d\u00e9cada, es ahora visible gracias a la mejora de la tecnolog\u00eda<\/p>\n<p>Ese eco final, apenas perceptible hace una d\u00e9cada, es ahora visible gracias a la mejora de la tecnolog\u00eda. Y ha permitido comprobar con gran precisi\u00f3n que los agujeros negros se describen \u00fanicamente por su masa y su giro, tal como predijo el f\u00edsico Roy Kerr en 1963.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>La huella de Hawking<\/h2>\n<p>El nuevo registro tambi\u00e9n confirma el teorema del \u00e1rea de Hawking, que establece que el horizonte de sucesos \u2014la frontera invisible del agujero negro\u2014 solo puede crecer, nunca encogerse.
