Por lo tanto, se refuerza la idea de que este dominio transmembrana de la prote\u00edna Spike no es una regi\u00f3n que solo inserta la prote\u00edna en la membrana, sino que es un elemento importante que modula interacciones de las que depende la eficiencia infectiva.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La secuencia y estructura de esta regi\u00f3n son cr\u00edticas: peque\u00f1os cambios bastan para que el virus pierda gran parte de su capacidad de infectar<\/p>\n<p>Juan Ortiz Mateu, Biotecmed<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Durante la exploraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica, los investigadores introdujeron mutaciones en los lugares concretos de las prote\u00ednas, y observaron la reducci\u00f3n de la efectividad con que la que el virus consegu\u00eda introducirse en las c\u00e9lulas. Tambi\u00e9n se ha revelado que el dominio transmembrana ayuda a que la prote\u00edna Spike se una en grupos de tres, la estructura necesaria para la correcta fusi\u00f3n del virus a la c\u00e9lula.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores defienden que esta investigaci\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de entender mejor c\u00f3mo act\u00faa y se desarrolla el virus, permite que se ponga el foco en el descubrimiento de nuevos f\u00e1rmacos y tratamientos relacionados con esta parte de la prote\u00edna. Es decir, se abre la puerta a experimentar con nuevos enfoques terap\u00e9uticos que no se hab\u00edan estudiado previamente, puesto que se podr\u00eda utilizar el dominio transmembrana para intervenir y bloquear la prote\u00edna Spike, y conseguir frenar la infecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo ha contado con la financiaci\u00f3n de varios programas p\u00fablicos, dentro de los proyectos del Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovaci\u00f3n y Universidades, la Agencia Estatal de Investigaci\u00f3n y la Uni\u00f3n Europea.
