Los resultados, <a href=\"https:\/\/frontiersin.org\/journals\/microbiology\/articles\/10.3389\/fmicb.2025.1713017\/full\" target=\"_blank\">publicados esta semana en la revista<\/a> Frontiers in Microbiology, revelan una paradoja inquietante: a pesar de su origen antiguo, el microorganismo es resistente a diez clases de antibi\u00f3ticos modernos.<\/p>\n<p>La cepa SC65A.3 es capaz de neutralizar antibi\u00f3ticos como la rifampicina, la vancomicina y el ciprofloxacino<\/p>\n<p>La cepa, denominada\u00a0Psychrobacter\u00a0SC65A.3, fue aislada a partir de un testigo de hielo de 25 metros de profundidad extra\u00eddo de la zona conocida como la Gran Sala de la cueva. Este bloque de hielo representa una l\u00ednea temporal de 13 000 a\u00f1os de historia ambiental. Los resultados mostraron que la cepa SC65A.3 es capaz de neutralizar f\u00e1rmacos empleados para tratar enfermedades graves como la tuberculosis, la colitis o las infecciones urinarias, incluyendo la rifampicina, la vancomicina y el ciprofloxacino.<\/p>\n<p>Se trata de la primera vez que se detecta en el g\u00e9nero Psychrobacter una resistencia espec\u00edfica a compuestos como el trimetoprim, la clindamicina y el metronidazol. Seg\u00fan los autores, esto sugiere que las bacterias adaptadas al fr\u00edo extremo act\u00faan como \u2018reservorios\u2019\u00a0de genes de resistencia que podr\u00edan ser transferidos a bacterias modernas si el deshielo provocado por el cambio clim\u00e1tico las libera al exterior.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Amenaza y oportunidad biotecnol\u00f3gica<\/h2>\n<p>Sin embargo, el hallazgo no es solo una se\u00f1al de alarma.
