Esta caracter\u00edstica lo ha convertido en un modelo clave para estudiar los mecanismos biol\u00f3gicos de la regeneraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de la mayor\u00eda de los mam\u00edferos, que cicatrizan las heridas, este roedor es capaz de regenerar piel, m\u00fasculo e incluso restablecer conexiones funcionales en la m\u00e9dula espinal<\/p>\n<p>Durante a\u00f1os, la comunidad cient\u00edfica ha comparado el c\u00e1ncer con \u201cuna herida que nunca cicatriza\u201d, ya que ambos procesos implican una intensa proliferaci\u00f3n celular. Esto ha llevado a plantear si los organismos con alta capacidad regenerativa podr\u00edan tener un mayor riesgo de desarrollar tumores.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, los resultados del estudio apuntan en sentido contrario.
