Este tipo de c\u00e1ncer hematol\u00f3gico que afecta a la m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea se caracteriza por su resistencia a los tratamientos, lo que provoca reca\u00eddas en los pacientes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>El estudio se ha centrado en analizar qu\u00e9 factores de transcripci\u00f3n (prote\u00ednas clave que regulan la activaci\u00f3n de genes) son esenciales en el desarrollo del mieloma m\u00faltiple. Esta investigaci\u00f3n, integrada en el Cancer Center Cl\u00ednica Universidad de Navarra, se basa en trabajos anteriores que estudiaron el epigenoma completo del mieloma.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El papel de IRF2, un factor de transcripci\u00f3n cuyo papel en esta enfermedad no se conoc\u00eda hasta ahora y que puede convertirse en una buena diana terap\u00e9utica<\/p>\n<p>Nahia G\u00f3mez-Echarte, primera autora<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn ellos, desciframos que los factores de transcripci\u00f3n podr\u00edan desempe\u00f1ar un papel clave en las alteraciones epigen\u00f3micas del mieloma m\u00faltiple. Posteriormente, se seleccionaron 54 factores que s\u00ed estaban expresados en c\u00e9lulas de mieloma.<\/p>\n<p>Para cada uno de esos factores de transcripci\u00f3n se dise\u00f1aron 10 gu\u00edas CRISPR diferentes, con el objetivo de ver si la inhibici\u00f3n de esos factores era clave para la viabilidad de las c\u00e9lulas de mieloma.
