Los hallazgos, publicados en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-026-74978-x\" target=\"_blank\">Nature Communications<\/a>, indican que este es el primer sistema estelar binario candidato conocido en el que ambas estrellas han experimentado eventos de supernova.<\/p>\n<p>Ambos remanentes existen muy cerca, y aproximadamente a la misma distancia de la Tierra<\/p>\n<p>En la investigaci\u00f3n, liderada por cient\u00edficos de la Universidad de Stanford (EE UU), se combinaron 16 a\u00f1os de observaciones de rayos gamma del Telescopio de Gran \u00c1rea Fermi con datos de rayos X de eROSITA y registros complementarios de m\u00faltiples longitudes de onda.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Con ellos, pudieron establecer que el remanente de supernova llamado G189.6+3.3, descubierto recientemente, ocupa el mismo entorno f\u00edsico que IC 443, lo que indica que ambos existen muy cerca y aproximadamente a la misma distancia de la Tierra. Si bien se conocen cientos de estos restos en nuestra galaxia, identificar las relaciones entre ellos es dif\u00edcil, especialmente en las regiones densamente pobladas de la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea.<\/p>\n<p>Las estimaciones de edad sugieren que la estrella progenitora explot\u00f3 entre 20 y 100 000 a\u00f1os antes de la explosi\u00f3n que cre\u00f3 IC 443<\/p>\n<p>Un ejemplo bien estudiado es IC 443, un remanente ubicado en la constelaci\u00f3n de G\u00e9minis, a unos 6 000 a\u00f1os luz de la Tierra. Se encuentra cerca de otras estructuras astron\u00f3micas y dentro de una compleja nube de gas y polvo, lo que dificulta el estudio de la regi\u00f3n circundante.<\/p>\n<p>Las estimaciones de edad sugieren que la estrella progenitora de G189.6+3.3 explot\u00f3 entre 20 y 100 000 a\u00f1os antes de la explosi\u00f3n que cre\u00f3 IC 443.
