Este ciclo depende de la comunicaci\u00f3n entre las c\u00e9lulas madre del fol\u00edculo, el entorno que las rodea, conocido como\u00a0\u2018nicho\u2019, y la papila d\u00e9rmica, una estructura situada en la base del fol\u00edculo esencial para iniciar cada nuevo ciclo de crecimiento.<\/p>\n<p>GRK2 act\u00faa como un regulador del equilibrio del fol\u00edculo piloso. Cuando falta esta prote\u00edna, el fol\u00edculo pierde la capacidad de responder a las se\u00f1ales que normalmente coordinan el crecimiento del pelo<\/p>\n<p>Un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n liderado por\u00a0Federico Mayor y Catalina Ribas en el Centro de Biolog\u00eda Molecular Severo Ochoa (centro mixto de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid y el CSIC) y el IIS-Princesa ha identificado una funci\u00f3n desconocida de la prote\u00edna se\u00f1alizadora GRK2, clave para mantener este equilibrio.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo, publicado en Journal of Investigative Dermatology, demuestra que la ausencia de esta prote\u00edna altera el ciclo normal del pelo, favorece la aparici\u00f3n de quistes asociados al fol\u00edculo y conduce progresivamente a la p\u00e9rdida de pelo en modelos de rat\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestros resultados indican que GRK2 act\u00faa como un regulador central del equilibrio fisiol\u00f3gico del fol\u00edculo piloso. Cuando falta esta prote\u00edna, el fol\u00edculo pierde la capacidad de responder de forma adecuada a las se\u00f1ales que normalmente coordinan el crecimiento del pelo\u201d, explican los autores del estudio.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Un fallo en la comunicaci\u00f3n celular<\/h2>\n<p>El trabajo muestra que la ausencia de GRK2 altera varios mecanismos de comunicaci\u00f3n celular esenciales para activar el crecimiento del pelo. Como consecuencia, algunos fol\u00edculos no progresan correctamente durante esta fase y generan estructuras qu\u00edsticas que quedan desacopladas del ciclo normal del pelo.<\/p>\n<p>Una de las principales aportaciones del estudio es desvelar c\u00f3mo estas estructuras qu\u00edsticas pueden contribuir a la p\u00e9rdida progresiva de pelo. Los quistes desplazan la papila d\u00e9rmica lejos del nicho de c\u00e9lulas madre del fol\u00edculo e interrumpen una comunicaci\u00f3n esencial para iniciar nuevos ciclos de crecimiento. Los quistes acaban actuando como barreras que separan f\u00edsicamente a las c\u00e9lulas madre de las se\u00f1ales que necesitan para mantener el ciclo del pelo\u201d, se\u00f1alan los autores.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Claves para entender la alopecia<\/h2>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el trabajo muestra que estas estructuras qu\u00edsticas presentan cambios en la identidad de sus c\u00e9lulas y son infiltradas por c\u00e9lulas inmunitarias durante el envejecimiento.
