Las depuradoras de aguas residuales (EDAR) reciben no solo el agua procedente de hogares y empresas, sino que tambi\u00e9n limpian el agua de la lluvia cuando esta se canaliza a trav\u00e9s de los imbornales de las calles hacia la red de saneamiento p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>En la actualidad el Consorcio gestiona 59 Estaciones Depuradoras de Aguas Residuales (EDAR) que dan servicio a 67 aglomeraciones urbanas y 241.750 habitantes, m\u00e1s del 35 por ciento de la poblaci\u00f3n total de la provincia.<\/p>\n<p>Para hacernos una idea de la importancia del volumen de agua devuelta a la naturaleza en \u00f3ptimas condiciones, los 22,8 millones de metros c\u00fabicos depurados en las instalaciones gestionadas por Promedio ser\u00edan equivalentes hasta 4,5 veces la capacidad total de almacenamiento del embalse de Tentud\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Por \u00faltimo, atendiendo al cumplimiento de la normativa, han sido eliminadas del agua devuelta a r\u00edos y riveras de la provincia un total de 315 toneladas de basura asimilable a residuos dom\u00e9sticos y 16.797 toneladas de material org\u00e1nico o fango.
