Los resultados,\u00a0que aparecen publicados en la revista\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1016\/j.jconrel.2025.01.062\" target=\"_blank\">Journal of Controlled Release<\/a>, suponen un avance hacia terapias oncol\u00f3gicas m\u00e1s precisas y efectivas.<\/p>\n<p>El c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata constituye un problema de salud relevante, ya que se trata de la segunda neoplasia maligna m\u00e1s diagnosticada y la tercera causa de muerte por c\u00e1ncer en hombres. Seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), uno de cada 44 hombres morir\u00e1 a causa de esta enfermedad.<\/p>\n<p>En concreto, los investigadores han desarrollado dos tipos de nanopart\u00edculas org\u00e1nicas, denominadas micelas, basadas en materiales polidiacetil\u00e9nicos (PDA) y equipadas con un ligando de direccionamiento espec\u00edfico (ACUPA) para la prote\u00edna PSMA, sobreexpresada en las c\u00e9lulas tumorales de pr\u00f3stata. Estas micelas se emplean para administrar el f\u00e1rmaco docetaxel (DTX) en el tratamiento de este tipo de c\u00e1ncer, mediante direccionamiento pasivo y activo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Las micelas utilizadas han sido dise\u00f1adas siguiendo los \u00faltimos avances en nanomedicina, optimizando su tama\u00f1o, topolog\u00eda y qu\u00edmica de superficie para alcanzar selectivamente el tumor y liberar una cantidad efectiva del f\u00e1rmaco con el objetivo de eliminar las c\u00e9lulas tumorales<\/p>\n<p>Noureddine Khiar, autor principal<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLas micelas utilizadas han sido dise\u00f1adas siguiendo los \u00faltimos avances en nanomedicina, optimizando su tama\u00f1o, topolog\u00eda y qu\u00edmica de superficie para alcanzar selectivamente el tumor y liberar una cantidad efectiva del f\u00e1rmaco con el objetivo de eliminar las c\u00e9lulas tumorales\u201d, indica el investigador principal de este estudio,\u00a0Noureddine Khiar.<\/p>\n<p>Los m\u00e9todos convencionales para tratar este c\u00e1ncer, como la cirug\u00eda y la quimioterapia, a menudo no erradican por completo las c\u00e9lulas tumorales, carecen de selectividad y pueden da\u00f1ar tejidos sanos, provocando efectos secundarios graves, resistencia a los medicamentos y deterioro de la respuesta inmunol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn respuesta a estos desaf\u00edos, la investigaci\u00f3n se orienta hacia el desarrollo de sistemas avanzados de administraci\u00f3n de f\u00e1rmacos a escala nanom\u00e9trica, que permitan una entrega precisa de agentes terap\u00e9uticos y de diagn\u00f3stico, mejorando la selectividad y reduciendo los efectos adversos tanto mediante direccionamiento pasivo, como activo\u201d, subraya\u00a0Khiar.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Pruebas en modelos de rat\u00f3n<\/h2>\n<p>En el direccionamiento pasivo, las nanopart\u00edculas se dirigen al tumor aprovechando caracter\u00edsticas espec\u00edficas del entorno tumoral, como la mayor permeabilidad de los vasos sangu\u00edneos; sin embargo, este mecanismo puede carecer de la selectividad necesaria, lo que limita la distribuci\u00f3n eficiente del f\u00e1rmaco en las c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas. En contraste, el direccionamiento activo utiliza un mecanismo m\u00e1s preciso, en el que las nanopart\u00edculas se dise\u00f1an para interactuar espec\u00edficamente con los receptores sobreexpresados en las c\u00e9lulas tumorales, mejorando la acumulaci\u00f3n del f\u00e1rmaco en el tumor y minimizando el impacto en los tejidos sanos.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Estos hallazgos iniciales sugieren que las micelas que hemos desarrollado podr\u00edan representar una alternativa prometedora para la administraci\u00f3n de tratamientos de quimioterapia dirigidos espec\u00edficamente a las c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas de pr\u00f3stata<\/p>\n<p>Noureddine Khiar<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Los resultados de los estudios precl\u00ednicos y las pruebas en modelos murinos demuestran que las micelas con direccionamiento activo, no solo incrementan la solubilidad del f\u00e1rmaco\u2014un factor clave para su eficacia terap\u00e9utica\u2014, sino que tambi\u00e9n logran una acumulaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s eficiente en los tumores, reduciendo significativamente su crecimiento.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstos hallazgos iniciales sugieren que las micelas que hemos desarrollado podr\u00edan representar una alternativa prometedora para la administraci\u00f3n de tratamientos de quimioterapia dirigidos espec\u00edficamente a las c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas de pr\u00f3stata.
