{"id":51281,"date":"2025-02-14T13:28:05","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T12:28:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helloproject.es\/vigilancia\/el-pais-de-residencia-puede-influir-en-la-deteccion-temprana-del-cancer-infantil\/"},"modified":"2025-02-14T13:28:05","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T12:28:05","slug":"el-pais-de-residencia-puede-influir-en-la-deteccion-temprana-del-cancer-infantil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helloproject.es\/vigilancia\/el-pais-de-residencia-puede-influir-en-la-deteccion-temprana-del-cancer-infantil\/","title":{"rendered":"El pa\u00eds de residencia puede influir en la detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer infantil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La Universitat de Valencia y el Hospital la Fe han participado en un estudio\u00a0que analiza si el pa\u00eds donde vive un menor con c\u00e1ncer influye en las posibilidades de detectarlo a tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados del estudio, publicados en la revista The Lancet Child &amp; Adolescent Health indican que \u00abexisten\u00a0variaciones entre pa\u00edses en la supervivencia del c\u00e1ncer infantil que podr\u00edan explicarse por las diferencias en el estadio del tumor en el momento del diagn\u00f3stico, entre otros factores.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo investigador ha analizado cerca de 11.000 casos de c\u00e1ncer infantil diagnosticados entre 2014 y 2017 en 23 pa\u00edses europeos y 4 no europeos.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Grupos de edad<\/h2>\n<p>Se han analizado casos de c\u00e1ncer infantil en dos grupos de edad: hasta 14 a\u00f1os para neuroblastoma (tumor en el tejido nervioso perif\u00e9rico inmaduro), tumor de Wilms (c\u00e1ncer renal) y meduloblastoma (tumor cerebral); y hasta 19 a\u00f1os para sarcoma de Ewing (tumor \u00f3seo), rabdomiosarcoma (c\u00e1ncer en el tejido muscular) y osteosarcoma (c\u00e1ncer en las c\u00e9lulas que forman los huesos). Esta diferencia se debe a que algunos de estos tumores tambi\u00e9n afectan a adolescentes.<\/p>\n<p>El sur de Europa tiene mejores resultados en la detecci\u00f3n del neuroblastoma, posiblemente por un mayor acceso a gammagraf\u00edas, una t\u00e9cnica no disponible en todos los pa\u00edses\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo tambi\u00e9n concluye que la mitad de los casos de neuroblastoma presenta met\u00e1stasis en el momento del diagn\u00f3stico. Le siguen el meduloblastoma con un 35,1%, el sarcoma de Ewing con un 32,6%, el rabdomiosarcoma con un 29%, el osteosarcoma con un 25,5% y el tumor de Wilms con un 18,2%.<\/p>\n<p>El sur de Europa, regi\u00f3n que incluye a Espa\u00f1a, Grecia, Italia, Malta, Portugal y Eslovenia, destaca por unos resultados algo m\u00e1s esperanzadores en la detecci\u00f3n del neuroblastoma, que se podr\u00edan atribuir al uso de gammagraf\u00edas, una t\u00e9cnica contemplada en las recomendaciones est\u00e1ndar para detectar met\u00e1stasis pero que no est\u00e1 disponible en todos los pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>B\u00fasqueda de una mayor equidad<\/h2>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, en esta regi\u00f3n se emplean tomograf\u00edas computarizadas de t\u00f3rax en el 82,9 % de los casos de tumor de Wilms, lo que podr\u00eda explicar una estadificaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s precisa frente a otras regiones geogr\u00e1ficas.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s en esta regi\u00f3n, se emplean tomograf\u00edas computarizadas de t\u00f3rax en el 82,9 % de los casos de tumor de Wilms, lo que podr\u00eda explicar una estadificaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s precisa frente a otras regiones geogr\u00e1ficas.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores destacan la necesidad de que todos los pa\u00edses puedan acceder a t\u00e9cnicas est\u00e1ndar como las gammagraf\u00edas MIBG o las tomograf\u00edas computarizadas para mejorar la detecci\u00f3n temprana y, en consecuencia, las posibilidades de supervivencia de los pacientes.<\/p>\n<p>Para sensibilizar y concienciar sobre esta realidad, as\u00ed como para incentivar la investigaci\u00f3n de los c\u00e1nceres que afectan a ni\u00f1os y adolescentes, cada 15 de febrero se conmemora el D\u00eda Internacional del C\u00e1ncer Infantil.<\/p>\n<p>Referencia:<\/p>\n<p>Laura Botta et al\u00a0\u00abInternational benchmarking of stage at diagnosis for six childhood solid tumours (the BENCHISTA project): a population-based, retrospective cohort study\u00bb.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lanchi\/article\/PIIS2352-4642(24)00302-X\/fulltext\" target=\"_blank\">The Lancet Child &amp; Adolescent Health<\/a>\u00a0(2025).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Universitat de Valencia y el Hospital la Fe han participado en un estudio\u00a0que analiza si el pa\u00eds donde vive un menor con c\u00e1ncer influye en las posibilidades de detectarlo a tiempo.
