Ahora, un estudio liderado por el Hospital Langone, dependiente de la Universidad de Nueva York, ha revelado que estas aves y los humanos utilizan mecanismos cerebrales similares para producir sonidos complejos.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo, publicado en la revista Nature, demuestra que los periquitos pueden ser modelos clave para estudiar trastornos de la comunicaci\u00f3n\u00a0en humanos, como los que pueden ocurrir tras un ictus.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hay una representaci\u00f3n de los sonidos vocales en la parte del cerebro de los periquitos que es an\u00e1loga a un centro clave de producci\u00f3n del habla en los humanos<\/p>\n<p>Michael Long, col\u00edder del estudio (Univ. Nueva York)<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El equipo investigador estudi\u00f3 grabaciones neuronales de dos especies de loro: periquitos y pinzones cebra, estos \u00faltimos con un aprendizaje vocal limitado en comparaci\u00f3n con los periquitos para examinar c\u00f3mo se codifica en el cerebro la producci\u00f3n vocal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDescubrimos que hay una representaci\u00f3n de los sonidos vocales en la parte del cerebro de los periquitos que es an\u00e1loga a un centro clave de producci\u00f3n del habla en los humanos. Se trata de la primera especie no humana en la que se ha observado un\u00a0\u2018mapa motor vocal\u2019\u00a0de este tipo, explica a SINC\u00a0Michael Long, uno de los l\u00edderes del estudio.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Gama de vocalizaciones<\/h2>\n<p>Los periquitos utilizan el n\u00facleo central del arcopallium anterior, una regi\u00f3n del cerebro del ave que conecta con la siringe (el \u00f3rgano vocal aviar) a trav\u00e9s del tronco encef\u00e1lico, lo que permite la producci\u00f3n de una gama diversa de vocalizaciones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn el periquito, las c\u00e9lulas cerebrales individuales codifican los distintos sonidos producidos por el ave, incluido el tono vocal. En otras palabras, existe una similitud entre el cerebro del periquito y un piano, en el que diferentes teclas conducen a diferentes notas\u201d contin\u00faa el investigador.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quotebefore.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Existe una similitud entre el cerebro del periquito y un piano, en el que diferentes teclas conducen a diferentes notas<\/p>\n<p>Michael Long<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/bundles\/app\/images\/quoteafter.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Por esta capacidad vocal similar a la humana, los autores afirman que el periquito puede servir como modelo para estudiar c\u00f3mo tratar trastornos de la comunicaci\u00f3n como los que ocurren tras un ictus, en la enfermedad de Parkinson, la demencia asociada a la edad o afecciones del neurodesarrollo como el autismo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHemos descubierto un teclado vocal; ahora nos gustar\u00eda entender c\u00f3mo se toca.
