{"id":86062,"date":"2025-03-24T11:28:21","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T10:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helloproject.es\/vigilancia\/los-casos-de-tuberculosis-infantil-aumentan-un-26-en-la-union-europea\/"},"modified":"2025-03-24T11:28:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T10:28:21","slug":"los-casos-de-tuberculosis-infantil-aumentan-un-26-en-la-union-europea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helloproject.es\/vigilancia\/los-casos-de-tuberculosis-infantil-aumentan-un-26-en-la-union-europea\/","title":{"rendered":"Los casos de tuberculosis infantil aumentan un 26% en la Uni\u00f3n Europea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Por tercer a\u00f1o consecutivo, los pa\u00edses de la Uni\u00f3n Europea y el Espacio Econ\u00f3mico Europeo (UE\/EEE) han registrado un aumento de los diagn\u00f3sticos de tuberculosis en menores de 15 a\u00f1os.\u00a0Los nuevos datos publicados por el Centro Europeo para la Prevenci\u00f3n y el Control de las Enfermedades (ECDC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) y la Oficina Regional para Europa de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) muestran que, con casi 39 000 casos de tuberculosis notificados en 2023, los 29 pa\u00edses de la Uni\u00f3n Europea y del Espacio Econ\u00f3mico Europeo siguen registrando aumentos en las notificaciones de tuberculosis. Dado que los ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os tienen un mayor riesgo de desarrollar la enfermedad tuberculosa durante el primer a\u00f1o tras la infecci\u00f3n, la tuberculosis infantil sirve como marcador de la transmisi\u00f3n en curso dentro de una comunidad.<\/p>\n<p>Los menores de 15 a\u00f1os representaron el 4,3 % de los casos de tuberculosis en la UE y EEE<\/p>\n<p>Los nuevos datos para 2023 indican que los ni\u00f1os y adolescentes menores de 15 a\u00f1os representaron el 4,3% de todos los casos de tuberculosis en la UE\/EEE. Y los casos notificados en este grupo de edad han aumentado, aunque solo sea ligeramente, por tercer a\u00f1o consecutivo. Entre 2022 y 2023, las notificaciones de tuberculosis pedi\u00e1trica aumentaron de 1 341 a 1 689 casos. Adem\u00e1s, para uno de cada cinco ni\u00f1os con tuberculosis en la regi\u00f3n se desconoce si completaron su tratamiento antituberculoso. Un tratamiento incompleto puede provocar un deterioro de la salud, como la aparici\u00f3n de tuberculosis farmacorresistente y una mayor transmisi\u00f3n de la enfermedad a otras personas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl momento de actuar para acabar con la tuberculosis, causada por la bacteria\u00a0Mycobacterium\u00a0tuberculosis, es ahora. Con el aumento de la tuberculosis farmacorresistente, el coste de la inacci\u00f3n de hoy lo pagaremos todos ma\u00f1ana\u201d, subraya Pamela Rendi-Wagner, directora del ECDC.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Menor tasa de \u00e9xito de tratamiento<\/h2>\n<p>Al igual que en a\u00f1os anteriores, la\u00a0tasa de \u00e9xito del tratamiento en 2023 fue inferior en los pa\u00edses de la UE\/EEE que en el resto de la Regi\u00f3n Europea de la OMS (67,9 % frente a 77,2 %, respectivamente). Esto representa una brecha sustancial entre las tasas actuales de \u00e9xito del tratamiento y los objetivos mundiales establecidos por la OMS, que aspiran a obtener resultados satisfactorios en al menos el 90 % de los pacientes.<\/p>\n<p>Solo uno de cada dos pacientes de tuberculosis multirresistente termin\u00f3 con \u00e9xito su tratamiento<\/p>\n<p>La <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/es\/news-room\/questions-and-answers\/item\/tuberculosis-multidrug-resistant-tuberculosis-(mdr-tb)\" target=\"_blank\">tuberculosis multirresistente<\/a> a varios antibi\u00f3ticos sigue siendo un reto importante: seg\u00fan los datos publicados, s\u00f3lo aproximadamente uno de cada dos (56%) pacientes con esta forma de tuberculosis termin\u00f3 con \u00e9xito su r\u00e9gimen de tratamiento.
