La tecnolog\u00eda de las c\u00e1maras integradas en el telescopio James Webb ha resuelto el misterio de la zona borrosa en la punta de la protoestrella Herbig-Haro 40\/50. El telescopio espacial \u201cha captado estos dos objetos no asociados en una alineaci\u00f3n afortunada\u201d, afirma la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) en un comunicado.<\/p>\n

Los objetos Herbig-Haro (HH) son estructuras compuestas por chorros de flujo lanzados desde una estrella cercana en formaci\u00f3n que se pueden extender a lo largo de a\u00f1os luz. Cuando entran dentro de una regi\u00f3n de material m\u00e1s denso, crean ondas de choque que calientan el material.<\/p>\n

Un objeto celeste joven<\/h2>\n

Herbig-Haro 40\/50 es uno de estos objetos y se considera una protoestrella de Clase I, lo que significa que est\u00e1 en el momento id\u00f3neo para aumentar su masa. Se encuentra en la constelaci\u00f3n de Camale\u00f3n, a unos 630 a\u00f1os luz de la Tierra, y en t\u00e9rminos de astronom\u00eda es un objeto joven, de decenas de miles a un mill\u00f3n de a\u00f1os de edad.<\/p>\n

Se descubri\u00f3 en 2006 gracias al telescopio espacial Spitzer de la NASA. Su aspecto helicoidal le dio el nombre de \u2018tornado c\u00f3smico\u2019 y, hasta ahora, no se conoc\u00eda la naturaleza del objeto difuso que aparec\u00eda en la punta. Gracias a las c\u00e1maras de alta resoluci\u00f3n NIRCam y MIRI del telescopio James Webb, se ha observado que se trata de una galaxia espiral lejana y un mar de galaxias distantes de fondo.<\/p>\n

La gran resoluci\u00f3n de la nueva imagen tambi\u00e9n ha ayudado a visualizar con mayor nitidez las finas caracter\u00edsticas de las regiones de choque en el flujo de salida. La agencia Espacial Europa indica que este grado de detalle en peque\u00f1as escalas espaciales ayudar\u00e1 a los astr\u00f3nomos a descifrar las propiedades del chorro y sus efectos en el material circundante.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
