Pero deja de recuperarse en enfermedades con da\u00f1o hep\u00e1tico cr\u00f3nico, como la cirrosis.<\/p>\n<p>El h\u00edgado es de los pocos \u00f3rganos capaz de regenerarse tras una lesi\u00f3n<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, un estudio liderado por el Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncol\u00f3gicas (CNIO) y <a href=\"https:\/\/fecyt-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/mgonzalez_fecyt_es\/Documents\/Embargos\/10.1038\/s41586-025-08778-6\" target=\"_blank\">publicado hoy<\/a> en la revista Nature, revela un mecanismo r\u00e1pido que tiene el h\u00edgado para regenerarse, y que se activa gracias al glutamato.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados, de momento solo probados en ratones, muestran que la suplementaci\u00f3n nutricional con este amino\u00e1cido favorece la recuperaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas hep\u00e1ticas. Esto beneficiar\u00eda a pacientes con da\u00f1o hep\u00e1tico grave y cr\u00f3nico, tambi\u00e9n los que se recuperan de una cirug\u00eda en el h\u00edgado o los que esperan un trasplante.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Multiplicaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas sanas<\/h2>\n<p>Nabil Djouder, uno de los autores del estudio, explica a SINC que la regeneraci\u00f3n del h\u00edgado no ocurre desde cero, sino que consiste en \u201cla sustituci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas hep\u00e1ticas da\u00f1adas por aquellas que quedan sanas en el h\u00edgado\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>El pico de regeneraci\u00f3n del h\u00edgado se alcanza entre las 48 y las 72 horas tras la lesi\u00f3n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl proceso de regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica est\u00e1 altamente coordinado y es bastante r\u00e1pido. Cuando una parte del \u00f3rgano se lesiona o se extirpa, las c\u00e9lulas hep\u00e1ticas restantes comienzan a multiplicarse para restaurar el tejido perdido, y el resultado es visible incluso\u00a030 minutos despu\u00e9s de la extirpaci\u00f3n\u201d, afirma el investigador.<\/p>\n<p>El pico de regeneraci\u00f3n se alcanza a las 48 horas de la lesi\u00f3n en ratones y entre las 48 y 72 horas en humanos,\u00a0dependiendo de la magnitud de la lesi\u00f3n, la salud general del paciente o enfermedades previas.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Glutamato y m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea<\/h2>\n<p>Lo que revela este nuevo trabajo es el mecanismo molecular de esta regeneraci\u00f3n y el papel crucial del glutamato, que colabora con la m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea.<\/p>\n<p>Los macr\u00f3fagos son los responsables de estimular la regeneraci\u00f3n del h\u00edgado<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan explica Djouder, el glutamato interacciona con la m\u00e9dula que se encuentra dentro de los huesos y donde se originan las c\u00e9lulas inmunitarias. \u201cAs\u00ed, activa unas c\u00e9lulas inmunes llamadas monocitos, que viajan por la sangre hasta el h\u00edgado y se transforman en macr\u00f3fagos\u201d, a\u00f1ade. Estos macr\u00f3fagos son los responsables de estimular la regeneraci\u00f3n del h\u00edgado, y provocan que las c\u00e9lulas de este \u00f3rgano se multipliquen.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo en ratones, los autores realizaron an\u00e1lisis bioinform\u00e1ticos y cultivos de c\u00e9lulas y observaron que los mecanismos son similares en seres humanos.<\/p>\n<p>Para comprobarlo, el siguiente paso ser\u00e1 trasladar la investigaci\u00f3n a personas a trav\u00e9s de un ensayo cl\u00ednico, aunque Djouder pide cautela. \u201cSi bien los procesos de regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica son muy similares en ratones y humanos, la velocidad y la extensi\u00f3n de la regeneraci\u00f3n pueden variar\u201d, concluye.<\/p>\n<p>Referencia:<\/p>\n<p>Djouder, N.
